BradSingleton BVSCBrad Singleton

BVSC + Hospital Operations Manager

Brad started nursing in 1996 in a general practice in Sydney as an all-rounder, working on reception, in medicine and in surgery. He did a four-year stint there and whilst in his third year, started doing weekend work in an emergency centre. He completed his vet nursing certificate through TAFE, and in March 2020 completed Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing through the Animal Industries Resource Centre.

After working in general practice, Brad worked for four years at The Animal Referral Hospital in Sydney, as a senior surgery nurse as well as doing emergency work on the weekends. During this time, Brad did numerous Anaesthesia and Emergency and Critical Care courses/seminars through anaesthetic specialists and emergency hospitals.

He then moved up to Brisbane and worked in the Emergency Department of two veterinary hospitals for approximately one year before commencing work at BVSC in mid-2004. Brad has used his skills and experience in all departments at the hospital. He has worked as a Surgery nurse, Medicine nurse, Oncology nurse, Radiation Therapy nurse, Ophthalmology nurse, Head ICU and as a Joint Nursing Supervisor.  In 2016 Brad transitioned to the Admin Team and is now BVSC's Hospital Operations Manager.

One of the most exciting experiences that Brad has had in his vet nursing career was when he helped with an anaesthetic on a tiger that had asthma like attack under anaesthetic. It survived. Outside of work, Brad likes to enjoy activities such as camping, wakeboarding, jet skiing and planning family trips to Africa.
